Ballet Shoes Watercolor

I kept way too much stuff from when my daughter was a little girl. She is now 30 years old (I can't believe it) and some of the keepsakes have been transferred to her home and her children. Toys, art projects, costumes, dolls...so many memories take us back as these treasures are returned to her care.

She started taking ballet and tap dancing classes when she was just 3 years old. Above is my favorite picture of her taken during her recital days. I am going to paint this portrait one day. I am, I am. Sadly, I did not keep her ballet shoes. What happened to them? How could that have happened? Years later, I painted this watercolor. I placed it in a frame made from old boards and took it to the shop recently. It reminded me that I really wish I still had her sweet little pink-painted-white ballet shoes!

Thanks to Kathleen at Faded Charm for hosting White Wednesday!

Beautiful little girl and beautiful shoes! There are so many childhood things I wish I still had, and no clue as to what happened to them. ::Jill

awwww. I have had that same thing happen to me...wondering what in the world I did with something or what would have possessed me to get rid of it... BUT I just love the beautiful picture. Now that is one thing you can cherish anyway! Thanks for sharing something so special to your heart.

I love the painting of the ballet slippers!!! Wonderful job. What kind of things do you sell at Bloom and Bee Swanky~~~ I've been friends with Amy for many years, I was in her other Mall before she opened the shop that she is in now. I go in and shop pretty regularly. Blessings... Daphne

Hey, Texas girl! I'm native, born and raised. :) Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.

What a sweet ballet photo and painting! My daughter took ballet last year and I don't think I have seen anything sweeter than a 3yo in a tutu. Oh my. I have her ballet shoes tucked away for sweet nostalgia years from now.

Hope it's a great day in TX!
