Ok, so maybe it's not the Tallahatchie Bridge, but this was what I found on the banks of the Bosque River under a bridge not too far from my home in Crawford, Texas. It WAS a brass chandelier that had been on fire and I guess that is why someone ditched it. So my husband and I looked at each other as if to say "Somebody threw away a perfectly good chandelier?"
We stripped out all the electric wiring and light bulb sleeves and I painted it and then glazed it. Some pieces were missing, but nothing that a few pearl strands from the Christmas tree, some new crystals, some finials from a curtain rod and a few other baubles couldn't fix. And then, of course, it had to have candles. It hangs in our bathroom near our bathtub.
Clever hubby hung it on a pulley system so it can be raised and lowered to light the candles.
I apologize for not taking BEFORE photos and my good camera is on the fritz so I had to use my iphone. Hey, perhaps Billie Joe wasn't throwing something off the bridge after all....or if he did, maybe he realized its potential and was trying to retrieve it!
Thanks to Kathleen at Faded Charm for hosting White Wednesday! Be sure to visit her!

Well I can check that off my To-Do-List for today...a good old belly laugh! I loved!!! this story from the ditched treasure literally in the ditch. You and hubs having the same AH HA moment...someone threw a perfectly good thing away.
I am thrilled that your little peeking eyes came to my dream party...now for a refreshing soak by candle light.
Enjoy ;-)
So elegant..quite a mood setter! Glad I stopped by!
The candlelight reflecting off your stained glass panels, yes, I could see them, must be wonderful for a late night bubble bath.
Lucky you.

Aren't you glad some people don't think how we think, otherwise we wouldn't be finding any deals... and speak about deals you can't beat finding something free. Your chandelier is pretty and it has a lovely shape to it and certainly brings that romantic touch in a bathroom that's for sure.
Enjoy your Day*

This turned into a beautiful chadelier! Love the pearls on it. Thanks for your visit and sweet comment on my chalkboard mirror.
I really, really like that y'all rescued it! It looks wonderful! ~Mindy
Great makeover...very romantic in the bathroom!
putting it on a pulley is pure genius, that is a smart man! it looks great, love how you glammed it up.
This is great fun! I have been lucky enough to have found several chandeliers at flea markets, refurbished them and sold them quickly! Now that we have decided we would like several for our own home, I haven't scored any deals. We have also wanted one for the bathroom. Thanks for linking to Modern Craftswoman Monday! Rory
